Land Acknowledgement
I acknowledge that this practice is rooted in Tkaronto, a place shaped by the enduring presence and care of the Anishinaabe, Haundenosaunee, and Wendat peoples, and governed by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant-an agreement to peaceably share and protect this land. I honour the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the original caretakers of this territory, and recognize that this land is part of Treaty 13.
As an artist and Expressive Arts Therapist, I understand that healing is relational-it does not happen in isolation-it is woven into the land, the waters, and the truths we are willing to carry.I acknowledge the ongoing legacies of colonialism, dispossession, systemic injustice and violence that continue to harm Indigenous communities across Turtle Island.
Let this be more than words. May our presence here be guided by humility, listening and action.
I am committed to learning, unlearning and supporting Indigenous sovereignty, creativity and liberation.
